Bio

I grew up in Hendersonville, NC, and eventually made my way to Raleigh to attend NC State University. I graduated in 1996 and went to work in the Textile Industry. I have now been in the Dental Sales business for the past 17 years. During my time at NC State, I had the fortunate opportunity to work, study, and travel abroad for a year in Europe. Our family resides in Cary, NC, and Beth (wife) teaches kindergarten at Thales in Apex. Anna (16), Sarah Gray (13), and Samuel (7) also all attend Thales Academy at the Apex Campuses. Needless to say, we are fully vested in Thales; love the community and feel at home. During my youth and high school activities, I viewed running as just a necessary way to keep in shape for my sports of choice. As life moved on, I realized that running had many benefits for health, self-esteem, life lessons, and even social opportunities. I began to take interest in distance running and have now completed nine marathons, with a goal of at least fifty. I figured it was a great way to see the USA and show the family lots of cool places along the way. I’m honored to be able to coach the Thales HS and JH Cross Country Teams this season. I know it will be a pleasure working with your student athletes, helping to instill some of the things running has taught me in life. I’m a firm believer that if we can give it our best efforts and work towards discipline, goal setting and achievements, success is inevitable. I’m looking forward to meeting each of the parents and students who will be part of the Cross Country family for the 2017 fall season.
